Kristen Stewart is both an actress and a tabloid fixture. What kinds of challenges did that present?
As long as you're filming in cities in which the interference of paparazzi is (negligible), it doesn't impact the film. And because Kristen was so immersed in Marylou's world, everything was fone in a way where you could feel the concentration on set. It was as if the outside world didn't exist. Interiors were filmed partly in Montreal, and it's bery different there than in New York or Los Angels, where the tabloid culture is so present. We were spared that kind of interference. That allowed us to dig further and further into the film's fabric.
