That being said, when I heard Kristen would be at this year’s MTV Movie Awards, she was the only one I cyber stalked so I could see what she was wearing and what she did to her hair and makeup. And of course I’m biased when I say she killed it! She looked stunning as ever and she’s my best dressed this year, hands down. I want it all: that dress, that hair, those shoes… oh and that hot British boyfriend.

She looked great in this rocker chic red mini dress with studs and safety pins that matched perfectly with her I-don’t-care hair.
There was a time when safety pins were mentioned, you automatically think Elizabeth Hurley. Now who can’t forget Hurley’s Versace gown held together by large safety pins? Well, Balmain’s Spring 2011 RTW collection, which showcased that look, is something that we have always loved the moment we laid our eyes on it. So when Kristen walked that red carpet, we already knew she would walk away not only with MTV Movie Awards trophies but the best dressed as well. Liz has the 90′s and Stewart can have this decade.

Never in a million years I would have said that Kristen Stewart would be the best dressed at an event. Last night, for the he MTV Movie Awards, she wore a stunningly rock'n'roll red Balmain mini dress detailed with studs and safety pins. As I have said before, she looks her best in super short numbers, which she pulls off easily, and effortless hair and makeup.
Looking closely at her styling you might think Bárbara Martelo styled her. She's known for wearing only Balmain and Isabel Marant. The key of her style lies in the fact that she wears this ostentatious statement pieces with her natural hair down and virtually no makeup. It was actually Martelo who wore the jacket version of Kristen's dress during Paris Fashion Week back in February. She was also spotted then in the black "Chiara" Christian Louboutin pumps that Kristen paired up with the dress for the red carpet.
This is probably just a big coincidence but what an incredibly great match would Martelo be as Stewart's stylist? I'd love it!

If you're ever going to wear a safety pin dress (so Vivienne Westwood!), you might as well wear it to an MTV event. This is fun, edgy, and for once KStew's notoriously glum demeanor just comes across as rock 'n' roll swagger. Love it.

Kristen Stewart is one starlet who has a very distinctive style; put this tomboy in something she doesn't like and we know about it. Which is why this rocker-inspired number by Balmain - yes, BALMAIN! - is the perfect choice for our K-Stew. It has enough safety pins and studs to make Joan Jett proud and as ever, she teams it with buckets loads of attitude. Here's hoping this is the first step to some Balmainia for Kristen. The Twilight star's previous red carpet experiences were riddled with styles you could tell she felt awkward in because they didn't reflect her personality.

Thanks for posting this, so great to see so many accolades for her. I had lost track on Twitter. Kristen has good fashion instincts and she's listening to them more consistently, and it shows. She looked really confident and happy.
