'Certain Women' will screen at the Aspen Film Festival
CERTAIN WOMEN
Wednesday, September 21, 2016 | 8:15 PM
The celebrated indie auteur Kelly Reichardt returns with perhaps her strongest film, a quiet and mesmerizing portrayal of various intersecting lives in Montana. On the heels of its Sundance premiere in January 2016, Certain Women received universal critical acclaim, with The Guardian calling Reichardt “a master at slow-burning, melancholic dramas.” A married couple (Michelle Williams and James Le Gros) falters after buying a new home, a young lawyer (Kristen Stewart) is roped into teaching an adult education class, and another lawyer (Laura Dern) finds herself in a peculiar hostage situation. Their lives become inevitably intertwined in these luminous vignettes. Colorado Premiere. (USA, 2016)
