Why this silence in movies about Guantanamo?
There is an economic reality. It's hard to set up a project like this. Guantanamo is a very delicate subject, I knew it from the start. It wasn't certainly going to be a movie that would interest big studios. Americans spent so much time ignoring it, it's hard to convince them to take a little of their Friday night to go watch frontally this situation created by their own country. But fortunately, independent cinema likes to take risks. And the actors too: I think it's one of the reasons why Kristen Stewart wanted to make this movie: it's a role outside of her comfort zone.
