Connie Britton mentions Kristen with Time magazine

Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg, your costars in this movie, have been in the public eye from a very young age. You, by contrast, went to college and had a whole life before fame. What contrast do you see between your experience and theirs?

In everything I’ve ever worked on, inevitably, I’ve ended up working with younger actors who are getting into their careers at a very young age. Jesse and Kristen are remarkable because not only did they get into their careers at a very young age but they also reached enormous success at a very young age—and very well-deserved success at a very young age. They’re extraordinary to me; I kind of gawk at them because their talent is so well-honed, and to have that level of talent at such a young age and to be able to access it and parlay that into a career is something I will never be able to understand because that was not my experience. My experience has been a different one, and may be interesting to some, because some people always ask me, “You reached more success as you got older, and usually they say you can’t do that as a woman, blah blah blah”—to me, it’s really interesting to see young people be able to be so self-possessed in the ways they are.

Kristen and Jesse play 'Never Have I Ever' for Buzzfeed

Watch Kristen & Jesse play 'Never Have I Ever' at the source HERE.

Transcript:

Pretended to be someone your not?

Jesse Eisenberg: By profession.
Kristen Stewart: It’s what we’re good at slash we’re really good at pretending.

Been handcuffed?

JE: I’ve been in handcuffs a million times for movies.
KS: Me too.
JE: this might not work with us, but keep trying.

Gone 72 hours without showering?

JE: Oh, 72. I thought you were going to say days.
BuzzFeed: Have you gone days?
JE: No, I would have said no way, but still I thought you were going to say days.

Watched a movie high and then had to rewatch it sober?

JE: No, there’s no reason to do that.
BF: You just watch it once and that’s fine?
JE: Yeah, it’s usually better.

Laughed so hard you peed?

JE: I peed so much I started laughing.
KS: You know what, unfortunately for us, I think that’s kind of a girl thing. You know what I mean? This is good.

Been high in public?

JE: I was once on the CN tower in Toronto.
KW: Yeah, me too.
JE: Yeah.

What was that experience like?

JE: No, it’s just like very high up. In public.

Taken a shower high?

JE: Fifth. Fifth, yeah.

Called Connie Britton 'Tami Taylor' by accident or on purpose?

BF: Because of Friday Night Lights.
KS: Oh! No, but I should have.
JE: I should have done it. Yeah.

Touched Conne Britton's hair?

JE: Day one.
KS. No. I didn’t get the chance.

Had a really good high idea?

What’s one of them?

KS: I don’t remember specifically. I just know the feeling it gave me.
JE: To get a different-color New Balance shoe. I wrote down “maroon New Balances” once.
KS: My organizational skills get better, which actually you wouldn’t think that.
JE: Right, it’s usually the opposite.

Talked your way out of a ticket?

What was your method?

KS: I actually started crying. Because I was just freaked out. And I didn’t try to — I was trying to hide it from him. And he was like, “No, it’s cool. It’s OK, just slow down.” And I was like, “OK, but, I, thank you. I’m really sorry.” And he didn’t give it to me.
JE: That’s very sweet.

Crashed your car?

KS: Crashed?

Or had an accident of some kind.

KS: I mean, like, a little touchy.

Worked a really shitty job?

What were they?

JE: I did construction with my father for a whole summer. It was horrible. Horrible.

And Kristen?

KS: Well, I don’t want to tell you what movie it is, but I’ve definitely done a couple of movies where I’ve been like, “This movie’s a piece of shit.”
JE: Yeah.

Check out the cool gifs for the interview on Buzzfeed.

Kristen will be in a Chanel film directed by Karl Lagerfeld

ACTING UP: Kristen Stewart, who has appeared in campaigns for Chanel and is regularly front-row at its shows, is to appear in a film being made for the French house’s next Métiers d’Arts show, scheduled for Dec. 1 in Rome.

Sitting in the director’s chair, Karl Lagerfeld wrapped the two-day shoot at Luc Besson’s studio in Paris last month, and conceived the intriguing storyline: A fictional, behind-the-scenes look at a yet-to-be-made biopic about founder Gabrielle Chanel.

Stewart is to portray an actress slated to impersonate the designer as a young woman, while Geraldine Chaplin, who has portrayed a middle-aged Chanel in previous films by Lagerfeld, is in the frame, too.

Lagerfeld said Stewart, best known for the “Twilight” series and her recent turn in “Still Alice,” relished the role, and played it to the hilt. “She played it really, really mean,” he said. “You only see her in tests and she’s complaining about everything. She’s mean with the director; mean with the producer.”

Much of the movie takes place in the office of the would-be film’s producer, and a corridor. Lagerfeld conceived the plot, dialogue, costumes and casting, also roping in Harper’s Bazaar editor Laura Brown to portray an American journalist. “They make so many movies about Chanel, why can’t I make one?” he shrugged.

Kristen & Jesse interview w/ Collider for 'American Ultra'

Jesse's interview with Collider:

Just talk a lot about the physicality of the role. Because I think a lot of people aren’t used to seeing you doing these stunts, killing people, and blood. And it’s an interesting departure from what a lot of people see you in.  So can you tell us a little about that.

EISENBERG: So while that specific aspect might be a little different, there’s a full movie and a full character that surrounds some of the more exciting action scenes. Kristen’s character and my character are a very sweet couple, kind-of-like laid back stoners in the middle of the country, not realizing that they are apart of this government plot. And when they come to take me out, I have to defend myself. So all of the action in the movie is warranted and done in a really interesting way.

A lot of people on Twitter, and I mean a lot, really wanted to know about your collaboration with Kristen and what it’s like for the two of you on set and what it’s like to work together.

EISENBERG: I think we have a similar sensibility and in our case I think it means we both prioritize the authenticity or emotional reality. And in those movies that we’ve done together so far, there’s this added element of knowing it could be funny. And so if it’s funny, then that’s okay and we can allow it to happen but the priority is emotional authenticity.

Sometimes when I’ve spoken to actors one person likes to work a certain way and it’s that sort of balancing the way you like to work with the way other people like to work. Do you guys have a similar work ethic in the terms of – you both like to do 3 to 5 takes, you both like to prepare a certain way…

EISENBERG: I never really seemed to consider this. But no. She’s her toughest critic and as am I. So in addition to making each other better by virtue of us working hard together, I think also we make each other feel a little more confident about what we are doing. Because I  can tell when she’s not feeling great about something and she can tell when I’m not feeling great about something. Or you know, when I stop eating if I get nervous.

Does that happen a lot?

EISENBERG: Yes. When we did Adventureland I used to forget to eat out of anxiety and she would bring me food. So she’s a real sweet women and I can tell when she’s not feeling great about something insfor where the movie is concerned and then I try to make her feel good about it. Because she’s good she’s very talented in her skill set.

And as I said to you during the junket, your guys’ chemistry in the movie is fantastic. It just is. I want to reemphasize that out because it’s so good.

EISENBERG: Oh that was so nice. That’s very nice to say.

"American Ultra" Interview w/Miami Herald

"American Ultra" is one of the funniest, most action-packed movies of the summer, and much of its humor comes from the unlikely casting of Jesse Eisenberg as a stoner who morphs into a government agent killing machine.

Eisenberg just laughs at the notion that he might ever play such a role. "Oh yeah, when my mother gave birth to an undersized premature baby with an androgynous name, I'm sure she thought I'd grow up to be a big action movie star," he says during a recent telephone interview that also featured co-star Kristen Stewart.

But Eisenberg and Stewart say they saw something special in the script by Max Landis, the son of John Landis, who directed such classics as "Animal House," "The Blues Brothers" and the Michael Jackson video "Thriller." And they were eager to work with director Nima Mourizadeh, whose best-known previous film was 2012's surprise hit "Project X."

"The script was really great, and the characters were so consistent in how they responded to the absurd situations they faced," Eisenberg says.
Stewart adds: "We thought the script really worked, but whether we could pull it off was another thing. But Jesse is hyperintelligent, and I was confident about this guy," who was her co-star in yet another film, 2009's coming-of-age tale "Adventureland."

The movie, which opens nationwide Friday, starts out as a typical independent film-style love story, with Mike Howell (Eisenberg) getting stoned and working a nowhere job at a West Virginia Cash & Carry while his more responsible girlfriend, Phoebe (Stewart), works at a bail bond shop.

They smoke dope in the morning. They smoke dope at night. And Mike thinks everything is hunky-dory, even if he is prone to panic attacks. So he buys Phoebe an engagement ring and plans to pop the question, if he can ever find the right moment.
One night at the Cash & Carry, Mike has a mysterious visitor named Lasseter (Connie Britton), who tries to give Mike a coded message that he interprets as a bunch of gobbledygook. Later, while eating some ramen noodles, he spots two black-clad men messing with his dilapidated Ford and asks what they're doing to his car.
They attack. And Mike kills both of them with his soup spoon. He's rather stunned and doesn't know what to do. So he calls up Phoebe. "I just killed two people," he says. To which Phoebe responds, rather flippantly, "That's awesome." Then Mike explains: "They had guns and knives, and they were being total d---!"

That kind of stoner humor continues throughout "American Ultra," as Mike gradually finds out that he was once trained as a special government agent but was decommissioned without any memory of the past. Lasseter was in charge of the program, and she's just learned that Mike has been targeted for elimination, so the gobbledygook she muttered at the Cash & Carry was actually a code that reactivated his skills as a trained killer. Mike, of course, has no idea where his newfound skills are coming from, and he's baffled.

It's an unlikely role for Eisenberg, who's known for playing intelligent, somewhat hapless guys in Woody Allen movies. And he just laughs at his transition to action in "American Ultra."
Stewart notes that Eisenberg always "looked like he was going to have a heart attack when he did some of the big action scenes." To which Eisenberg responds: "I got my cholesterol checked every morning. It was so much more exhausting and demanding than you'd think."

In fact, being baffled by what's going on is part of the movie's charm, especially for audiences, who gradually learn the backstory as it's revealed to Mike after numerous scenes of mass destruction.

"We threw ourselves into it, and it all genuinely felt real," Stewart says. "It was cool to do that, even though we're both incredibly nervous and anxiety-ridden people." "Yeah, it was incredible," Eisenberg adds. "They actually blew up a car next to us, and it was very real and very terrifying."

In essence, the movie is a big mashup of 1980s and 1990s genre films, with inspiration from "The Terminator" and "Reality Bites." "Landis grew up in the world of movies, so he's referencing other movies - and referencing them in a way that makes them great," Eisenberg says. "There's a modern sense of irony and self-awareness."
Eisenberg also thinks a lot of the humor comes from the supporting actors, including John Leguizamo as one of Mike's stoner friends and Topher Grace as an obsessed CIA agent who pulls out all the stops to have Mike killed. "Topher plays this constant bad guy, but nothing is working out for him," Eisenberg laughs. "He wants to be this big Machiavellian guy, but people aren't listening to him. We're not the typical heroes, and he's not the typical bad guy."

Neither Eisenberg nor Stewart knows whether a sequel will be written. A lot probably depends on how the movie fares at the box office. But it's looking like a hit at this point.

Eisenberg says he'd consider coming back for a sequel "if it's as good as the first one." But Stewart hedges her bets, noting that the charm of the movie comes from the slow and funny realization that Eisenberg's character is a trained killer: "Once the bubble is burst, how do you do that again?"
